2nd Lieutenant G T Dorrell won this honour at Nery, on the 1st September 1914. Heedless of severe wounds, this gallant officer continued to fire his gun, after all officers were disabled, and until the ammunition was all used. He had to brave a heavy fire from the enemy.
Died 7 January 1971.
